Ad Executive / Creative Director / CEO of Crossroads Communications, Inc

What have I been up to...?
After FCF, I went to Boston and got my degree in Drama and Filmmaking from Emerson College. then headed back to Italy and got my first job working in a recording studio in Rome as an apprentice to the audio engineer. A year later my wife, Liz, whom I met while at Emerson, flew to Italy and we were married soon after - and we're still married today folks! Fast forward a bit to the mid 80s where, after a several year stint in marketing at a software firm (good ol' corporate America!) I landed a job at a Boston ad agency and voila - a career was born. In 1989 I started up my own agency, Crossroads Communications, and grew it to a successful status in a few short years and have been doing It ever since. We also spent a few years in southern New Hampshire before our recent move to Cape Cod (we're getting older you know and, even though the skiing's wonderful, we just couldn't stand the severe snow storms anymore). We have two kids, Michela, 28 and Matt, 24. I spend my free time writing and recording songs, jamming with our son - he's a drummer too - acting (still doing theatre) and kayaking with Liz. For the past 35 years, Liz and I have maintained an "entertaining" relationship
- as you can clearly see by watching one of our silly videos here.

Marcus Liuzzi
Realtor, Lang Realty, Boca Raton

What have I been up to...?
After Florence I completed an undergraduate degree in Political Science at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Following time working in Minneapolis, back home in upstate New York and a brief flirtation with life in Southern California, interests in environmental and energy policy led me to Washington, DC where I earned a Masters in "Science, Technology and Public Policy" from George Washington University. Over the next 25 years I worked as an analyst, writer, editor and project manager for the National Science Foundation, American Association for the Advancement of Science, National Academy of Sciences, Congressional Research Service (Library of Congress), and the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office. During these years I spent as much time as possible outside the Washington Beltway, both traveling and enjoying second homes in rural Bedford County, Pennsylvania and later Charlottesville, Virginia. A birthday celebration spent sailing and snorkeling in the warm, clearwaters of the British Virgin Islands inspired contemplation of an eventual change in latitude. My wife Olia, a high school English teacher now teaching in Boca Raton, helped convince me to finally make a move to Delray Beach, Florida in early 2007. Here I work as a Realtor specializing in waterfront homes along the Intracoastal Waterway and ocean beaches in Palm Beach County, a profession which allows me time to also develop several other business interests.

Founder of SHIFT: Developing Financial Awareness

What have I been up to...?
I've held a variety of positions in finance, development and marketing over the past 30 years. In Santa Fe, New Mexico I helped launch the Armory for the Arts and later moved to Los Angeles to produce independent films. I've been deeply involved with the Buddhist community, and was one of the pioneer members of the Shambhala Trust, an organization of philanthropists. I got married and moved to Boulder in 1991 and worked as the marketing director at Naropa University. In 2000, I dedcided to complete a Certified Financial Planning Course and most recently was Director of Communications at Shining Mountain Waldorf School. I love working in the community and aside from my Buddhist practice; I've studied Chi Kung and am a medical chi kung healing practitioner also incorporating my somatic training. I'm really inspired by individual and community consciousness and am passionate to support young adults, families and organizations to develop sanity in the financial realm.
